"Some old-fashioned things like fresh air and sunshine are hard to beat." -Laura Ingalls Wilder
Exhaling is so important. We tend to hold our breath, without knowing it, when we are doing a difficult or stressful activity. We often hear our seniors' therapists remind them to breathe during their physical therapy. Taking those deep breaths and releasing a long exhale can be so helpful and needed for our bodies and overall well-being. At The Groves, we love taking our weekly Stretch & Strolls together! Just a few benefits of deep breathing are:
*pain relief
*improved circulation & immune function
*increased energy
*lower blood pressure
*better digestion
*improved posture
*clearer mind
Let's continue to remind ourselves and loved ones to exhale!
