Mom is an independent person, still living in her home at 84 years of age, but lately she is having trouble taking care of her daily tasks.
The Groves offers solutions to these concerns in a personalized, non-institutional setting at affordable prices. The Groves is not for one looking for a large, non-personalized retirement community. The Groves is the Resident's home.....
The Groves helps and supports the resident to remain part of the community.
The Groves assists the resident in remaining independent.
The Groves reduces the worry on the family and the resident with supportive and caring hands. This insures peace of mind for all.
From time to time, visitors to Ephrata stop at The Groves, thinking that it is a charming Victorian bed and breakfast inn. It's no wonder with its lovely enclosed wrap-around porch, flowers, beautiful decor and bountiful meals, it does seem more like an inn than a retirement home that focuses on seniors 65 years of age and older.
The Groves has a gracious home atmosphere that provides residents with a sense of community, independence and peace of mind. Residents feel as though they are an active part of the Ephrata community, and they enjoy activities such as walking to the post office to mail a letter, strolling to the local shops and savoring life on Main Steet. The 9000 squre foot 1888 home has been lovingly restored to provide an elegant setting that is completely unlike the typical institutional setting. The location makes it convenient to local churches, hairdressers, shops, banks, restaurants, parks and even the movie theatre.
Residents have their own private or semi-private rooms with private baths. First floor rooms have no steps into the home when entering from the rear parking area. The Groves also offers a luxury independent apartment with gourmet kitchen, fireplace, and private deck. Residents can decorate their rooms in the style they choose, using their own furnishings. If necessary, furniture can be provided and the room can be decorated by the staff of The Groves.
Residents enjoy wonderful country style lunches and dinners like chicken pot pie, roast beef, roast turkey, pork chops in one of the two attractive dining rooms. In the morning, there is a continental breakfast or made-to-order breakfast. There is also a comfortable library with piano, writing desk and TV, as well as a cozy den with fireplace and built-in TV. Many residents enjoy knowing they can be alone when they want to be or be with others when they feel like socializing.
Family and friends have peace of mind, knowing that their loved ones are not alone and have qualified staff available at all times. The staff will help residents with taking their medications, bathing, to doctors appointments, visiting friends, laundry, cleaning, shopping trips and more. There are also activities, such as bingo, music programs, exercise and crafts, that residents can choose to participate in.
In many ways, the staff seems like an extended family for residents, because they get to know them on an individual basis. Staff members often bring their children, grandchildren and dogs in to visit with residents. This is especially nice for residents who don't have family in the area.
At The Groves there are no entrance fees, just a small application fee. Instead, residents pay a very reasonable daily fee for their room and services which includes laundry, linens and housekeeping. Not only is life at The Groves extremely affordable, but the atmosphere is exceptionally appealing and pleasant.
For retirement living that is highly personalized and focused on the individual, The Groves offers one of the best alernatives in assisted caring for seniors.
